HISTORY
Summit Geoengineering Services (SGS) was formed in 1998, as a subsidiary to Summit Environmental Consultants (SEC), under the direction of Bill Peterlein. The purpose was to expand Summit’s capabilities by providing geotechnical consulting. In 2010, Bill Peterlein and Craig Coolidge purchased SGS from SEC to operate as an independent geotechnical consulting firm.
In 2012, SGS added exploration services with the addition of an AMS 9500 VTR PowerProbe rubber track ATV direct push/auger drill rig equipped with cone penetration testing (CPT) capabilities using Vertek cones and software. The addition of soils laboratory testing services followed shortly thereafter. In 2018, SGS expanded exploration services with the addition of an AMS 9630 truck PowerProbe, followed by the addition of a Kubota KX040 Excavator in 2019. Today SGS operates as a comprehensive geotechnical consulting firm servicing New England from our office in Farmingdale, Maine. SGS continues to grow, expanding our exploration services and our team of professionals to better serve our clients. |
