Summit Geoengineering Services performed a geotechnical investigation for a new fitness center (Peter Buck Center for Health & Fitness) located adjacent to the Morrell Gym at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.  The new structure featured 3 floors above grade with a full basement foundation.  Geotechnical considerations for the project included the presence of deep sand deposits and the excavation stability for adjacent structures and utilities.  This project is LEED Silver certified by the U.S. Green Building Councel and was designed by Cambridge Seven Associates, Inc.

Other work performed at Bowdoin College include elevator & stairway additions and/or renovations to Hyde Hall, Moore Hall, Coleman Hall, and Adams Hall.
