Summit Geoengineering Services performed a geotechnical investigation for a new town center consisting of a town hall and public safety building (fire and police) located at 100 Main Street near the corner of Monument Place in Topsham, Maine.  Geotechnical considerations included ground improvements for loose sand deposits beneath the public safety building and soft clays beneath the town hall.  Ground improvement included over-excavation, well point dewatering systems, and extensive subgrade compaction methods.
