Geotechnical Site Investigations

To support architects, civil engineers, and structural engineers involved in site development/improvement projects, Summit Geoengineering Services (SGS) provides geotechnical recommendations based on data from our in-house exploration and soils laboratory testing capabilities for the design and construction of foundations for buildings, bridges, towers, and all other structures requiring foundations.

Subsurface Investigations/Soils Laboratory Testing

SGS’s highly integrated subsurface investigation approach includes test pits,  in-house laboratory soils testing capabilities, and the drilling of test borings with our own engineers on the rigs to log soils and prepare reports summarizing findings and results – which, taken together, often allows us to issue a preliminary report to move the client’s project forward faster than expected.

Geotechnical Foundation Design

We provide geotechnical recommendations for the design and construction of foundations for buildings, bridges, towers, and all other structures requiring foundations.

Our goal is to provide the most economical alternatives that will meet our client’s expectations for the lifetime performance of the structure.

Geotech Instrumentation & Monitoring

Summit Geoengineering Services (SGS) has performed a variety of geotechnical inspection services to include pile logging, pile load testing oversite (for both static and PDA dynamic testing), rock and soil anchor testing oversight, ground improvement inspection and load testing oversite, settlement monitoring, groundwater monitoring, double ring infiltration testing, slope inclinometer installation and monitoring, and geotechnical subgrade inspections.
