- The building is a 32.500 square foot, 3-story structure with a partial basement foundation
- Site design included short retaining walls and a porous pavement section for stormwater infiltration
- Project Challenges / Innovation:
- Geotechnical challenges included soft marine deposits, miscellaneous fill with stumps and organics, and seasonally perched groundwater
- Project included a comprehensive subgrade inspection program for field determination and implementation of suitable stabilization methods
- Stabilization methods selected included proof rolling, geotextile and/or crushed stone improvement, dewatering, and over-excavation
