Geotechnical Site Investigations
To support owners, architects, civil engineers, and structural engineers involved in site development/improvement projects, SGS provides geotechnical recommendations based on data from our in-house exploration and soils laboratory testing for the design and construction of foundations for buildings, bridges, towers, and all other structures requiring foundations.
Subsurface Investigations and Soils Laboratory Testing
SGS’s highly integrated subsurface investigation approach includes test pits, in-house laboratory soils testing, and the drilling of test borings with our own drill rigs, drillers, and engineers on the job. These same engineers prepare reports summarizing findings and results, which efficiently moves the project forward.
Geotechnical Foundation Recommendations
SGS provides geotechnical recommendations for the design and construction of foundations for buildings, bridges, towers, and all other structures requiring foundations. We evaluate foundation options for each structure using the results of subsurface explorations and associated laboratory testing, along with design information from our clients on the needs of the project. We provide recommendations for suitable, cost-effective foundations using our geotechnical expertise.
Geotech Instrumentation & Monitoring
SGS has performed a variety of geotechnical inspection services including geotechnical subgrade inspections, pile logging, pile load testing oversite (for both static and PDA dynamic testing), rock and soil anchor testing oversight, ground improvement inspection and load testing oversite, settlement monitoring, groundwater monitoring, double ring infiltration testing, and slope inclinometer installation and monitoring.
